Marcus Christer Rohdé (born May 11, 1991 in Knätte ) is a Swedish football player . The offensive all-rounder won the Swedish championship title with IF Elfsborg in 2012 and the national cup in 2014.

Career

Rohdén initially played in the youth division at Hössna IF , and in 2006 he joined the youth division of IF Elfsborg . While he was attending the football high school, he went through the various youth teams of the club in parallel. In autumn 2011 he was briefly awarded to Skövde AIK in the third class Division 1 .

After returning to IF Elfsborg, Rohdén signed a professional contract in December 2011. Under coach Jörgen Lennartsson he played 22 games in the Allsvenskan in the 2012 season, but was only in the starting lineup in seven games. With two goals he had a share in winning the championship title, at the same time he had played his way into the circle of the Swedish U-21 team . In the following season he established himself as a regular in the club, but could not hold on to the junior national team. In May 2014 he and the team around Jon Jönsson , Viktor Prodell , Sebastian Holmén , Henning Hauger and Johan Larsson were in the final of the national cup against Helsingborgs IF , which the team supervised by Klas Ingesson and Janne Mian with a goal from Lars Nilsson with a 1-0 victory won.

In December 2014, national coach Erik Hamrén nominated Rohdén as one of nine newcomers to the Swedish national team , which will tour the Middle East in January 2015 . After his debut, he stayed in the extended circle of the national team, but missed the leap into the squad for the 2016 European Championship .

In the summer of 2016 Rohdén joined the Italian Erstligaaufsteiger FC Crotone in Serie A . There he immediately belonged to the regular players and was at the end of the 2016/17 season with 34 championship appearances after Gian Marco Ferrari , Federico Ceccherini and Diego Falcinelli the most used field player. The team ended the season on the last non-relegation place. At the same time, he stayed with the national team, but was only part of the starting line-up there irregularly, especially in friendly matches. In qualifying for the 2018 World Cup finals , he made two short appearances, including as a substitute in the play-off second leg against Italy , where participation was secured with a 0-0 draw after a 1-0 first leg win. At club level, meanwhile, there was no success, in his second season at the southern Italian club he missed relegation with the team. Nevertheless, selection coach Janne Andersson appointed him to the 2018 World Cup squad.
