Rasmus Sebastian Holmén (born April 29, 1992 in Borås ) is a Swedish football player . The defender , who made his debut at Allsvenskan in 2013 , is the younger brother of the Swedish international Samuel Holmén .

Career

Holmén comes from the youth of Annelund IF , in 2007 he moved to the junior division of IF Elfsborg . There he went through the individual youth teams before he was trained and tested in the competition team by coach Jörgen Lennartsson in preparation for the season due to injuries to Daniel Mobaeck , Andreas Augustsson and Martin Andersson . Ultimately, he stayed without a stake in the 2012 season and at best made a moral contribution to the championship win, he made his first division debut in early April 2013 in a 1-1 draw at Halmstads BK as a substitute for Stefan Ishizaki . A few weeks later, he made his debut for the Swedish U-21 team when they won 3-2 against Switzerland in early June thanks to goals from Oscar Hiljemark , Dardan Rexhepi and Sam Larsson .

After a successful season in which Holmén had established himself in the IF Elfsborg competition team with 19 season games, the club extended the defensive player's contract until the end of 2016. Under Klas Ingesson and Janne Mian he was also a regular in the 2014 season, winning in the summer he with the team the national cup . In the 1-0 win over Helsingborgs IF with a goal from Lars Nilsson , he played the entire game.

In December 2014 national coach Erik Hamrén nominated Holmén as one of nine newcomers to the Swedish national team , which will tour the Middle East in January 2015 .
