Oscar Hiljemark (born June 28, 1992 in Gislaved ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder made his debut for IF Elfsborg in 2010 in the Allsvenskan .

Career

In the club

Hiljemark began playing football at Gislaved IS , later he moved to the youth department of IF Elfsborg . There, the people in charge of Svenska Fotbollförbundet became aware of him, and in March 2009 he made his debut alongside Nicklas Bärkroth and Oscar Lewicki in the Swedish U-17 team . While he stayed in the junior national teams and developed into a regular, he moved up to the squad of the professional team competing in the Allsvenskan in 2010 . On matchday 25 of the 2010 season he made his debut in a 2-2 draw at IF Brommapojkarna in the first division when he was at the side of Andreas Klarström , Denni Avdić and Mathias Florén in the starting line-up. In January 2013 he went to the Netherlands, where he played for PSV from Eindhoven in the Eredivisie . In July 2015 moved Hiljemark for US Palermo in Serie A . In January 2017 he was awarded to the league competitor CFC Genoa . At the end of the season, the Grifone signed Hiljemark, but awarded him to Panathinaikos Athens on August 31, 2017 .

In the national team

In 2011 Hiljemark moved up to the U-21 national team at the age of 18, and he became the team captain . At the same time, he also established himself as a regular player at club level and played 29 of the 30 possible season games, with three goals this season he contributed to the European Cup as third in the table. With his performances over the course of the season, he had played his way into the notebook of national coach Erik Hamrén , who called him in mid-December along with a number of newcomers - including his club mate Niklas Hult - for a January tour of the senior national team to Qatar.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in Sweden's squad, but was not used during the tournament.
