Niklas Hult (born February 13, 1990 in Värnamo ) is a Swedish football player . The midfielder , who made his debut for the Swedish national team in 2012 , won the Swedish championship and the national cup with IF Elfsborg .
Career
Hult started playing football in his hometown at the local club IFK Värnamo . There he later moved up to the competition team. In early 2009 he moved to IF Elfsborg , where he initially played in his youth. In May he made his debut as a substitute for Denni Avdić in the 1-1 draw against IF Brommapojkarna in the Allsvenskan , this was his only league appearance until May of the following year. In the second half of the season of the following season coach Magnus Haglund gave him more time, in September he scored his first first division goal in a 2-2 draw against IF Brommapojkarna.
In the 2011 season , Hult finally made the breakthrough under coach Magnus Haglund and played 28 season games. Having already played for various Swedish junior teams in previous years, he made his debut for the U-21 team in February . With good performances over the course of the season, he had also played his way into national coach Erik Hamrén 's notebook and was called up in mid-December along with a number of newcomers - including his team-mate Oscar Hiljemark - for a January tour of the senior national team to Qatar. On January 18, 2012, he made his debut in a 2-0 win over Bahrain with goals from Tobias Hysén and Hiljemark in the selection jersey.
In the following season, Hult was one of the top performers under the new coach Jörgen Lennartsson , and he contributed to winning the championship in 27 games this season with three goals this season. Shortly before the end of the season, however, he was injured. When he wanted to regain match practice in the U-21 team shortly before the start of the following season, the injury broke out again and he was again out for several weeks. After returning to the football field, he was initially only a substitute, but regained his regular place as the season progressed. In May 2014 he won his second title with the club when Helsingborgs IF was defeated in the final of the national cup .
Shortly after the cup triumph, OGC Nizza announced Hult's move to the French Ligue 1 .
For the 2020/21 season, Hult moved to the German second division club Hannover 96 on a free transfer .
