Sebastian Alexander Jung (born June 22, 1990 in Königstein im Taunus ) is a German football player . The right defender comes from the youth team at Eintracht Frankfurt , where he played for the first team from 2009 to 2014. He has been under contract with Hannover 96 since July 1, 2019 .

Jung played for 1. FC Königstein until 1998 , where talent scouts from Eintracht Frankfurt discovered and signed him. In the second half of the 2007/08 season he made his first appearances in the Oberliga Hessen with the second team of Eintracht . On March 8, 2009 he came to his first Bundesliga appearance against Arminia Bielefeld , on the following match day against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim he was in the starting line-up for the first time. In the away game against Borussia Dortmund on February 7, 2010, Jung scored his first Bundesliga goal with the 2-2 equalizer. In the Bundesliga season 2010/11 he was a regular on the right defensive side of Eintracht. In April 2013 he extended his contract, which originally expired in 2014, to June 30, 2015.

For the 2014/15 season , Jung moved to league rivals VfL Wolfsburg . With Wolfsburg, he made 40 Bundesliga appearances in 5 years due to many injuries. In his first season, Jung was runner-up and cup winner under head coach Dieter Hecking . After the 2018/19 season , he left the club when his contract ended.

For the 2019/20 season , Jung joined the Bundesliga relegated Hannover 96 , where he received a one-year contract.

National team

Jung completed four games for the German U-18 national team and nine games for the German U-20 national team , with which he took part in the 2009 U-20 World Cup . On September 3, 2010 he made his debut under Rainer Adrion for the German U-21 national team and played 19 games for them. On November 11, 2012, he was nominated by national coach Joachim Loew for the test match of Germany's senior national team against the Netherlands , but was not used. He made his international debut in the senior national team two years later on May 13, 2014 in Hamburg in a 0-0 draw in the test international against Poland, when he came on for Kevin Volland in the 71st minute . He was the first German national team player since 1999, when Horst Heldt last played for Germany.
