Valmir Sulejmani (born February 1, 1996 in Großburgwedel ) is a German - Kosovar football player .

Career

societies

Valmir Sulejmani made his first steps as a footballer from the age of five at SC Wedemark. From the age of nine, Sulejmani played in the youth department of Hannover 96. In 2013, at the age of 17, he moved up to the U-19 team. After making his debut in the U-19 Bundesliga in a 4-1 draw against Rot-Weiß Erfurt in September 2012 , he was now increasingly used. In the new season, Sulejmani played six games from the start in August 2013 and scored two goals. After only two months he moved up to the club's second team and made his debut in October in a 2-0 win against SC Victoria Hamburg in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord .

After his convincing performance, after only two appearances in the second team together with Tim Dierßen, coach Mirko Slomka regularly included him in training with the first team on October 29 and was part of the Bundesliga squad for the first time on November 3 against Werder Bremen . His first Bundesliga appearance was on December 14, when he was substituted on for Artur Sobiech in the 74th minute of a 3: 3 win against 1. FC Nürnberg . In the final phase he did the preparatory work for Mame Diouf to make it 2: 3 , and this hit caused strong criticism of the referee team due to an unpunished offside position. In the following game against SC Freiburg he was in the starting line-up for the first time. By the end of the season he came to another eight appearances in the second team and under the new coach Tayfun Korkut to four short appearances in the first. At the end of April 2014 Sulejmani signed his first professional contract with a term until June 30, 2017.

From the 2014/15 season , however, he was back in the second team in the Regionalliga Nord and was used almost continuously in this during the first half of the season. On January 30, 2015 Hannover 96 announced that Sulejmani would be loaned to the second division club 1. FC Union Berlin until the end of the 2014/2015 season. There he came to six missions from the 21st to the 29th match day and moved back to Hanover's second team after the season. On September 23, 2015, he scored his first goal in the men's area in the Regionalliga in a 1-0 win against VfB Lübeck .

For the season 2015/16 returned Sulejmani back to Hanover. In April 2016, he made four Bundesliga appearances under interim coach Daniel Stendel after he had not played under Michael Frontzeck and Thomas Schaaf . He was also used 23 times in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga Nord . After relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga , Sulejmani came to a second division in the 2016/17 season. On September 14, 2016, he was transferred to the second team together with Marius Wolf and Tim Dierßen , for which he scored four goals in 28 games. Sulejmani was also in the squad of the second team in the 2017/18 season.

For the 2018/19 season, Sulejmani moved to SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Regionalliga-Südwest . In April 2019 Sulejmani was able to celebrate promotion to the 3rd league with the Waldhöfern and thus returned to professional football. During the game between SV Waldhof Mannheim and 1. FC Kaiserslautern on September 1, 2019, Sulejmani was seriously injured: with a tear in the front syndesmotic ligament on his left ankle, he was out for several months.

Sulejmani returned to Hannover 96 for the 2020/21 season.

National team

Sulejmani made his debut on November 6, 2012 in the German U-17 national team , which was held in Auerbach / Vogtl. lost against the selection of the Czech Republic with 0: 1. He was also used in the tournament for the Algarve Cup in Portugal and played two of three games: on February 8, 2013 in a 2-1 win over England in Lagos and on February 12, 2013 in a 1-1 draw against the selection of Portugal in Bela Vista / Parchal. On October 10, 2015, Sulejmani came on in the 57th minute for Mërgim Brahimi and thus made his debut for the Kosovar national football team , which has been allowed to play official games without being a member of FIFA since 2014. On June 3, 2016, he also played in the first international match since Kosovo was admitted to FIFA.
