Genki Haraguchi ( Japanese 原 口 元 気 , Haraguchi Genki ; born May 9, 1991 in Kumagaya ) is a Japanese football player . He is under contract with Hannover 96 from the 2018/19 Bundesliga season .

Urawa Red Diamonds

Genki Haraguchi joined the Urawa Red Diamonds youth in 2004 . He made his competitive debut for Urawa on May 25, 2008 in the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup against Nagoya Grampus . In the J. League Haraguchi made his debut on March 7, 2009 for the Urawa Red Diamonds against the Kashima Antlers .

Hertha BSC

For the 2014/15 season , Haraguchi moved to the Bundesliga for Hertha BSC . He signed a contract until June 30, 2018. He scored his first goal for Hertha BSC in the DFB Cup against the regional division FC Viktoria Köln . He played his first competitive game on August 23, 2014 against Werder Bremen . Haraguchi scored the first Bundesliga goal on March 14, 2015, the 25th matchday, in a 2-2 draw against FC Schalke 04 .

Fortuna Dusseldorf

On January 23, 2018, his contract with Hertha BSC was extended by one year, at the same time he was loaned to the second division team Fortuna Düsseldorf until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Hannover 96

For the 2018/19 season, Haraguchi moves to Hannover 96 . He signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2021. With the club, he was relegated from the Bundesliga.

National team

Haraguchi took part in the 2008 U-19 Asian Cup with the Japanese U-19 national team. In 2011 Genki Haraguchi was used in qualifying for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London for the U-23 national team of Japan. On October 7, 2011, Haraguchi made his debut for the Japanese senior team in a friendly against Vietnam .

Haraguchi took part with Japan in the 2018 World Cup in Russia , he played in 3 games from the start and scored the interim 1-0 lead in the round of 16 against Belgium .
