Marcel Franke (born April 5, 1993 in Dresden ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with Hannover 96 .

Career

Franke started playing football at Dynamo Dresden at the age of five and went through all of the club's youth teams. In summer 2010 he led the Elbestädter B-Juniors as team captain for promotion to the U-17 Bundesliga . From the 2010/11 season Franke was part of the extended squad of the Dresden professional team, for which he made his debut in the 3rd division on March 5, 2011 (27th matchday) when he won the 3-0 home win over SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the 84th minute of play for Sascha Pfeffer was substituted on. On July 6 of the same year, the Frankes association extended the contract dated to June 30, 2012 ahead of time for another year.

In May 2013, the third division Hallescher FC announced that they would sign Franke for the new season free of charge. He received a contract until June 30, 2015.

For the 2015/16 season Franke moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He signed a three-year contract with the Franconian second division team until June 30, 2018. He scored his first goal in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 27, 2016, the 3-2 winning goal against Erzgebirge Aue in the 90th minute.

For the 2017/18 season Franke moved to Norwich City in the English second division . After only five missions, the club awarded him to his hometown club Dynamo Dresden in December 2017 on January 1, 2018 for the second half of the season. Here he played until the end of the season. In the following season it was awarded again, this time to SV Darmstadt 98. The Hessians secured a purchase option.

For the 2019/20 season, Franke moved to Bundesliga relegated Hannover 96 , with whom he signed a contract that ran until June 30, 2022.
