Edgar Prib ( Russian Эдгар Приб ; born December 15, 1989 in Nerjungri , Soviet Union , today Russia ) is a German- Russian football player . He is under contract with Hannover 96 .

Until 2013 he was a regular at SpVgg Greuther Fürth . The central midfield is the favorite position of the strong professional, but Prib has also played as a left defender and right winger.

Life

Prib was born on December 15, 1989 in Nerjungri, Yakut, and moved with his parents to Fürth when he was two years old . He attended the Hardenberg-Gymnasium in the south of Fürth and finished his school years with the Abitur in 2009.

Career

Prib has been playing for SpVgg Greuther Fürth since 1996 . After being in the second half of the 2007/08 season in the second team of Fürth's two appearances in the Bavarian League had come, he graduated in the following Regional - 2008/09 Season 32 matches and scored five goals.

In the summer of 2009, Prib signed a professional contract. In the first half of the 2009/10 season he had played nine games (one goal, five assists) in the 2nd Bundesliga before he was out with a torn ankle ligament. After the injury, he played two more games in the 2009/10 season, one in the away game against Alemannia Aachen and the other in the last game of the season against Karlsruher SC ; here he made his debut as a left-back. Here he played in the left-back position, in the left and in the central offensive midfield. The SpVgg Greuther Fürth just missed promotion to the 1st Bundesliga.

Regulars again in the 2011/12 season, mostly in the position of defensive midfielder. He became better known through a missed shot in the second division game against Eintracht Frankfurt , when he first lobbed the opposing goalkeeper and then shot the ball against the post. Shortly afterwards he scored the decisive goal in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup against the then Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg in the 254th Frankenderby . The SpVgg reached the cup semi-finals this season, which were lost in extra time against the eventual cup winners Borussia Dortmund . In addition, the SpVgg rose to the Bundesliga for the first time. He had been elected team captain a few days earlier. His contract ran until 2019. In February 2018 he tore his cruciate ligament again and missed the 2017/18 season completely. He only made his comeback for Hanover on April 27, 2019, the 31st matchday of the 2018/19 season, in a 1-0 home win against 1. FSV Mainz 05 . Despite his injury history, his contract with Hanover was extended to 2021 in June 2019.
