The Krasnodar airport ( Russian Международный аэропорт Краснодар ; also known as airport Pasch Stankowski , Russian Аэропорт Пашковский , English Pashkovsky ) is a major airport in Krasnodar , the administrative center of the Krasnodar region in the Federal District South Russia . It is located on the eastern outskirts of the Paschkowski settlement, which was incorporated a few years ago, about 12 kilometers from the city center.
The operator is AO Meschdunarodny aeroport Krasnodar (International Airport Krasnodar) , which, through the Aeroporty Juga (Airports of the South) holding, belongs to the aviation sector of the Basic Element of the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska .
With almost 3 million passengers (2006 - 1.151 million), the airport is one of the ten largest airports in Russia. Until 2012 it was also the hub of Kuban Airlines (KIL), which ceased operations. Today over 30 airlines fly to around 60 destinations. Since the number of passengers is expected to rise to 10 million by 2030, the old terminal is to be renovated by the end of 2014 and a new terminal to be built by 2017.
