Career

Career start in Sweden and national team

Florén played at Marma IF in his youth . For the club he debuted already the age of fifteen in 1991 in the Division V . In two seasons he came in 43 games on 19 goals and was therefore committed in 1993 by the third division Alnö IF . Here, too, he stayed for two years and joined the second division club GIF Sundsvall in 1995 .

After he had managed nine goals in the second division in the 1996 season, Florén moved to the Allsvenskan at IFK Norrköping in the following season . Here, too, he was able to establish himself as a regular and did not miss a season game in the 1998 , 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Then Florén was appointed to the national team in spring 2001. In a national selection consisting of players from the Northern European leagues, he suffered a 0-1 defeat against the Finnish selection on February 1 of that year alongside other debutants such as Sharbel Touma or Kennedy Bakırcıoğlu . A week later he played a game in the Swedish national jersey for the second and last time in the 4-1 victory over Thailand in the King's Cup . In the following season he ended up with his club only on the relegation place , in the play-offs, however, Mjällby AIF was defeated and relegation was achieved.

Experience abroad and return to Sweden

After the end of the season, Florén moved to the Dutch honor division and was already in the league for his new employer, FC Groningen , in November . In his debut season, he helped the club in 18 season games, in which he participated, to keep up. As a regular player, he made sure that the team stayed just short of relegation places in the following years under coach Ron Jans , who was obliged in October 2002 .

With 25 appearances in the 2006/07 season , he was one of the players who surprisingly led the former relegation candidate to fifth place in the table. At the side of his compatriot Rasmus Lindgren , he moved into the play-offs for a place in the qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League . Although he was not used there, he was still able to look forward to making it into the UEFA Cup . The loss of the regular place was also noticeable at the beginning of the following season and he was mainly used as a substitute.

On January 1, 2007 Florén returned after a little more than five years at FC Groningen in the Allsvenskan and moved to IF Elfsborg . Due to a knee injury, however, he only came to ten missions in the 2007 season . In the following season he established himself as a regular at the multiple Swedish champions. At the side of Teddy Lučić , Daniel Mobaeck and Jari Ilola , he only missed two of the 30 season games and reached the runner-up behind Kalmar FF with the club . He also moved into the 2008/09 UEFA Cup with the team at the UEFA Intertoto Cup in the summer , but failed with the team straight away at the Irish club St Patrick's Athletic . Also in the following season Florén was regular force, again he moved with the club as third in the table in the European Cup. In the UEFA Europa League 2009/10 he missed the team against Lazio in the play-off games in the group stage, while at the end of the 2010 season he was with the club at the side of Denni Avdić , Daniel Mobaeck and Martin Ericsson finished fourth in the table.

In early 2011 Florén returned to IFK Norrköping. In December 2010, he signed a three-year contract with the first division promoted team. As a regular player, he was one of the guarantees that the multiple national champion established himself in the Allsvenskan after being promoted again at the end of 2009 and even ended the 2012 season in fifth place in the table. In the summer of 2013, the club extended his contract by two years, at the same time he was to be introduced into the sporting management. In the 2014 season he worked as an individual coach and stayed with the team as a stand-by professional, but did not play any more until the summer. Therefore, the club loaned him to the cooperation partner IF Sylvia , but he continued his coaching activity at IFK Norrköping.
