Andreas Augustsson (born November 26, 1976 in Häljarp ) is a Swedish football player . The center- back , who has been under contract in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and his home country in the course of his career so far, has won the Swedish championship twice with IF Elfsborg .

Career

Augustsson played for Malmö FF and Helsingborgs IF in his youth . From there he moved to Twente Enschede in the Netherlands in 1995 , where he did not make a breakthrough. During his time in the Netherlands, he only made three league appearances for the professional team.

In 1998 Augustsson moved back to Northern Europe and he was hired by the Norwegian club Raufoss IL in the second-class 1st division . After two seasons he moved to Vålerenga IF in the Tippeligaen , where he could not prevail in the long term. In 2003, the defender returned to the second division and signed a contract with Sandefjord Fotball . After he had narrowly missed promotion to the Tippeligaen several times with the club, he left the club at the end of the 2005 season.

IF Elfsborg became Augustsson's new employer. At the traditional Swedish club, he immediately established himself as a regular player in the defense and contributed to winning the Lennart Johansson Cup for the Swedish champions with three goals in 26 games this season . After three seasons in the Allsvenskan for the club, he left Sweden again and went to the Danish club AC Horsens in the Superliga , where he signed a contract valid until summer 2011.

In January 2011 Augustsson returned to Sweden half a year before the end of his contract and joined IF Elfsborg again. In his first year still a regular player, in the 2012 season he was only in ten of his 17 league appearances in the starting line-up under the newly signed coach Jörgen Lennartsson . At the side of Daniel Mobaeck , Anders Svensson , Oscar Hiljemark and Stefan Ishizaki , he won the Lennart Johansson Cup for the second time.

After the season ended Augustsson left the reigning Swedish champions and moved to relegated GAIS . At the Gothenburg club, where he signed a two-year contract, he is supposed to contribute to the new start together with Joel Johansson , Mohammed Abdulrahman , Hampus Andersson and Marcus Jakobsson , who were also signed up.
