The Stadio Ennio Tardini is a football stadium in the Italian city of Parma , Emilia-Romagna region . It is currently the home of Parma Calcio , the currently in-class Serie A play. The stadium was built from 1922 to 1924 and was initially called Stadio Comunale di Parma . It was later named after Ennio Tardini , the president of the then AC Parma, who initiated the construction and died shortly before the opening.

history

The foundation stone was laid on December 26, 1922, immediately after a 2-0 win in the old stadium against rivals AC Reggiana in the Derby dell'Enza . The inauguration was celebrated on September 16, 1924. Initially, the sports facility had a cycling track and a sports hall for gymnastics. Furthermore, rugby games and athletics competitions took place at that time. The Ennio Tardini was only completed in the early 1990s, when AC Parma was promoted to the Italian Serie A , and has had a capacity of 27,906 seats since 2006, although this is limited to 21,743 spectators. The curve of the Ultràs of Parma Calcio, the Boys '77 and the Settore Crociato is the north curve. The guest sector is located in the south curve.

The stadium is in a central location southeast of the city center and is almost completely surrounded by residential developments. In the northwest of the stadium area there is a forecourt with a large entrance gate. Of the four grandstands, the main grandstand ( Tribuna Centrale ) in the west of the stadium and the opposite east grandstand ( Tribuna Est ) are covered, both rear stands ( Curva Nord and Curva Sud ) are uncovered. Due to the dense development around the stadium, the number of parking spaces is very limited.
