Borja Valero Iglesias (born June 18, 1985 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football player . His traditional position is the central midfield . He has been under contract with Inter Milan since June 2017 .
career
Borja Valero began his footballing career in the youth of the small Madrid club AD Villa Rosa . At the age of 12, he switched to the Real Madrid youth team . In these he went through various youth categories before he was included in the squad of the second team Real Madrid Castilla in summer 2005 . He made his debut in the first team in the Spanish Cup on October 25, 2006 against Écija Balompié . On December 6th of the same year, he also played in the Champions League group game against Dynamo Kiev for the "Royal".
In the summer of 2007 Borja Valero moved to RCD Mallorca and a year later finally to the English Premier League at West Bromwich Albion . There he played one season and was then loaned back to RCD Mallorca. In the summer of 2010 he moved to Villarreal , also on loan . The Spaniards secured a purchase option which they made use of at the end of the season.
After descending with Villarreal in the Segunda División Borja Valero joined the 2012/13 season for Fiorentina . After five years he moved on to Inter Milan.
National team
Borja Valero won with Spain the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2004 , scoring the winning goal to 1: 0 in extra time against Turkey . On June 4, 2011, he celebrated his senior national team debut in a friendly against the USA .
