Roberto Gagliardini (born April 7, 1994 in Bergamo ) is an Italian football player who is under contract with Inter Milan .

Career

In the club

Roberto Gagliardini began his career in his hometown with Atalanta Bergamo . For the 2013/14 season he was appointed to the professional squad by coach Stefano Colantuono . He made his first appearance on December 4, 2013 in a 2-0 win in the home cup game against US Sassuolo Calcio . On January 17, 2014 Gagliardini was loaned to AC Cesena , which was playing in Serie B at the time . Eight days later, in a 3-1 win over FC Varese , he scored his first goal for Cesena. At the end of the 2013/14 season he reached the promotion playoffs to Serie A with the AC Cesena coached by Pierpaolo Bisoli , where they prevailed against the US Latina and rose in Italy's top division. From September 2014 to July 2015 Gagliardini was loaned to the second division club Spezia Calcio . He then played on loan with Vicenza Calcio until 2016 .

In spring Gagliardini returned to Atalanta Bergamo and celebrated his competitive debut in Serie A on May 15, 2016 in the last game of the 2015/16 season in a 2-1 away win at CFC Genoa .

On January 11, 2017, Roberto Gagliardini was loaned to Inter Milan until June 30, 2018 and can then be permanently signed. He made his competitive debut for Inter on January 14, 2017 under coach Stefano Pioli in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium against Chievo Verona  - Inter won 3-1. On March 8, 2017, he scored his first competitive goal for the Nerazzurri in a 5-1 win against Cagliari Calcio . The following week there was an encounter against his actual club Atalanta Bergamo, where he also scored a goal. The match ended 7-1 for Inter.

In the national team

Gagliardini has so far played for the U-20s of Italy and the U-21s of Italy . On March 28, 2017, under Gian Piero Ventura , he made his first appearance in the senior national team in a friendly against the Dutch national football team . On May 31, 2017, another appearance in the friendly against San Marino . He also took part in the 2017 U-21 European Football Championship in Poland.

Gagliardini made his international debut for Italy on March 28, 2017 in a friendly against the Netherlands . As a result, Gagliardini was a regular member of the Italian squad and had a total of seven appearances by November 2018. However, it has not been taken into account since then.
