Ashley Simon Young (born July 9, 1985 in Stevenage ) is an English football player . He is currently under contract with Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A.
Career
Young, who can act both as a striker and on the outside positions, began his football career in the football academy of Watford FC . In 2002 he signed a contract with Watford FC. In September 2003 he made his debut in the championship game against Millwall FC . In this game he also scored his first competitive goal. Young was named Watford FC's Best Young Player for the 2004/05 season. One of his most successful seasons was the following season 2005/06, in which he rose to the Premier League with Watford FC .
In January 2007, Young moved to Aston Villa . On January 31, 2007, he made his debut for his new club at St. James' Park against Newcastle United . In the same game, Young scored his first goal for Aston Villa (final: 3-1).
For the 2011/12 Premier League season , Young moved to Manchester United . Young was able to convince in his first season; he was used in 25 league games and scored six goals. In the following seasons Young came up with similar numbers of appearances: In 2012/13 he came to 19, 2013/14 to 20 and 2014/15 to 26 appearances.
Young completed ten missions for the English U-21 selection . On November 21, 2007 he made his debut in a friendly against Austria in the senior national team .
