Hartmann Romans
Hartmann Römer (born June 1, 1943 in Wuppertal ) is a German theoretical physicist.
Life
Hartmann Römer studied physics at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1970 he was with the work generalization of Venezianomodells on scattering processes of bosons with arbitrary spins in Bonn doctorate ; In 1975 he completed his habilitation with the work Mechanisms of Spontaneous Mass Production and Solvable Models . This was followed by stays abroad in Finland, Brazil, Mexico, at the Weizmann Institute for Science in Israel and at the CERN nuclear research center in Switzerland.
In 1979 he was appointed full professor of theoretical physics in Freiburg, where he became head of the field theory and particle phenomenology department at the Institute of Physics. Römer retired from the 2008/2009 winter semester .
Römer became known as the author of textbooks introducing classical theoretical physics , elementary field theory , statistical mechanics and theoretical optics .
He also deals with natural philosophy, for example in extending the complementarity concept and the entanglement concept of quantum theory to different areas of the humanities (“ weak quantum theory” ) or considering Wolfgang Pauli's thoughts on the psychology of Carl Gustav Jung .
Römer is committed to the Humboldt Foundation . He is also a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Hercynia Freiburg im Breisgau in the CV .
