Antonio Candreva (born February 28, 1987 in Rome ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with Inter Milan since 2016 .

Career

In the club

Antonio Candreva started his professional career in 2004 wearing Ternana Calcio's shirt . In 2007, at the age of 20, he switched to Udinese Calcio . Candreva made his Serie A debut on January 27, 2008 against Inter Milan . But his development was rather negative, he only managed three missions. That is why he was loaned to AS Livorno in summer 2008.

In January 2010 he moved to Juventus Turin on loan . Juventus had an option to acquire 50 percent of their transfer rights from Udinese Calcio in the summer of 2010. The Turinese decided not to take the purchase option at the end of the season and Candreva then returned to Udine.

After Candreva for a season on loan at Parma FC had played, he became the season 2011/12 to the AC Cesena on loan. But back in January 2012, he joined Lazio on loan , a move not welcomed by all Lazio fans as Candreva was seen as a fan of city rivals AS Roma . Candreva herself denied this. After scoring his first goal for Lazio, Candreva's reputation with Lazio fans improved and following the 2011/12 season, Lazio decided to secure part of the rights to the midfielder for € 1.7m.

In the national team

Candreva made many appearances in all ages of the Italian national youth teams and also played in Beijing at the 2008 Olympic Games . From 2008 to 2009 he played for the U-21 team , with whom he also won the tournament in Toulon in May 2008 under coach Pierluigi Casiraghi .

On November 14, 2009 Candreva made his debut under Marcello Lippi in a 0-0 friendly match against the Netherlands in Pescara in the Italian national team .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Italian squad . He played the first two group matches against Belgium and Sweden as a regular. Adductor problems prevented him from playing again and he couldn't play until he was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

In the subsequent qualification for the 2018 World Cup , Candreva was a regular player, but missed the tournament with the team because Italy lost to the Swedes in the play-offs . Candreva was nominated for the national team for the last time under interim coach Luigi Di Biagio and played his last international match against England on March 27, 2018 . Since then it has not been taken into account.
