The Serie A 1948/49 was the 17th season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. The season began on September 19, 1948. The last game day was on June 5, 1949. The season as champions ended by AC Turin and was thus able to defend its previous year's title. As a climber who came AC Padua , the US Palermo and Novara from the second division to do so. Relegated to Serie B had to FC Modena and the US Livorno . The season was overshadowed by the Superga plane crash that killed the entire Grande Torino team from AC Turin, which had dominated Italian football in previous years.
