John Hansen (born July 27, 1924 in Frederiksberg ; † January 12, 1990 ibid) was a Danish football player and coach . Hansen is considered one of the first world-class players in Danish football.
Career
Hansen began his career in 1943 at BK Frem København . After the Second World War he took part for Denmark in the football competition of the Olympic Games in London in 1948 and won the bronze medal with the team. At Highbury Stadium , he scored four goals for his home country in the quarter-finals of the competition against Italy , the game ended in a 5-3 win for Denmark. In total, he completed eight international matches for the Danish selection and scored ten times in the opposing goal. The attacker also played a game for the Danish U-21 team and was successful with one goal.
Also in 1948, the center forward moved to the Italian Serie A at Juventus Turin and in 1949/50 won the first Italian championship for Juve after the war under the Englishman Jesse Carver . In 1952 he was able to repeat this success. He played for Juventus Turin until 1954 and then moved to Lazio for one season . In total, Hansen played 214 games in Serie A and scored 139 goals. He then returned to his homeland and ended his career with BK Frem København in 1960.
