The Serie A 1977/78 was the 46th season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. It began on September 11, 1977 and ended on May 7, 1978. Juventus Turin won their second Scudetto in a row. After a mixed start to the season, promoted Lanerossi Vicenza made it to second place and became runner-up thanks to Capocannoniere Paolo Rossi , who scored 24 goals. This was also the greatest success in the club's history. The quartet Torino Calcio , AC Milan , Inter Milan and SSC Napoli completed the starting field of international participants for the next season.
The CFC Genoa 1893 , US Foggia and Pescara Calcio were relegated to the B series . The Fiorentina made the league received on goal difference against Genoa and US Foggia.
On October 30, 1977, Renato Curi died on the field in the service of AC Perugia . The home game against Juventus Turin was canceled when the score was 0-0 and scored with this result.
