Renato Curi (born September 20, 1953 in Montefiore dell'Aso ( AP ), † October 30, 1977 in Perugia ) was an Italian football player .
Career
Renato Curi grew up in Pescara and learned to play football at Marconi Pescara . For the 1969/70 season he was obliged by Giulianova Calcio . As a 16-year-old, the 1.65 meter tall midfielder played two games for the first team. In the following season 1970/71, in which Giulianova was promoted from Serie D to Serie C , he was a regular player with 31 appearances at the age of 17. He played two more years for Giulianova in the third division before Como Calcio signed him in 1973 . For the second division side, Curi played 24 games without scoring a goal.
After a year in northern Italy, AC Perugia bought it for 300 million lire. In 23 Series B -Play Curi scored four goals and contributed to the rise of AC Perugia in Serie A at. For the next two years he was one of the best players in Perugia . During the Serie A home game of AC Perugia against Juventus Turin on October 30, 1977, he collapsed at the beginning of the second half and could not be revived.
In his memory, the stadium in Perugia was named after him. In Città Sant'Angelo in the province of Pescara , the amateur club Renato Curi Angolana bears his name.
