history

The club was founded in 1924 as Società Sportiva Giuliese and took part in regular league operations for the first time in the 1925/26 season. The team got into the third division of the Campionato regional , a regional amateur league, and eight years later qualified for the next division. In the 1940s, the team made it into the third-rate Series C . In 1948 he was relegated to the Prima Divisione Abruzzese , which Giulianova initially returned to the regional amateur leagues. After winning the promozione in 1954, the club made it to the fourth highest division. Five years later, the transition into the regional amateur league again had to be commenced and in 1961 after qualifying for the Series D .

The team won in the 1970/71 season by winning the Girone D promotion to the third-tier Serie C. This meant the first participation in the league since 1948. The club was able to hold seven years in the league and then fell into the Series C2. Two years later they were promoted again and after another two seasons they were relegated to the fourth-highest division. The club spent 10 years in the C2 series , but in 1992 the class could no longer be held and Giulianova fell back to the D series. Within four years, the team made the leap into the C1 series and remained in the third division with variable success. 1997 and 1999 the first promotion to Serie B was missed in the play-offs , 2003 and 2005 the team only managed to stay in the playoffs .

After the 2006/07 season, in which the Giallorossi finished last in the third highest division, followed after the 2008/09 season after winning the play-offs of promotion to the now renamed Lega Pro Prima Divisione league. In two games, AC Prato could be defeated and qualification for the next higher division was achieved. After the 2009/10 season, however, they rose directly back to the fourth division.
