The Stadio Renato Curi is a football stadium in the Italian city of Perugia , Umbria region .
The football club Perugia Calcio plays its home games here. The stadium is named after the former player Renato Curi , who died during a league game against Juventus Turin on October 30, 1977. The capacity is 28,000 seats.
history
The stadium, which is located below the old town in the Pian di Massiano district, was built in 1974 in just three months after AC Perugia had advanced to the top Italian division and the previous Stadio Santa Giuliana , inaugurated in 1937, did not meet the requirements of Serie A. was enough. Until it was renamed Stadio Renato Curi , the sports facility was called Stadio Comunale di Pian di Massiano .

The fans of Perugia Calcio stand on the uncovered north stand. There are around 6,000 places available. For guest fans, a little more than one third, i.e. H. around 2,500 seats are reserved for the south stand, which is also uncovered. The opposite stand with around 8,000 seats is also not covered, in contrast to the main stand, which contains VIP and 312 press seats.
