The Stadio Benito Stirpe (also known as Stadio Casaleno ) is a football stadium in the Italian city ​​of Frosinone , Lazio region . It has been the home of the Frosinone Calcio football club since October 2017 .

history

The stadium was planned in the mid-1970s and built in the second half of the 1980s, but construction remained unfinished for over 30 years. The completion between 2015 and 2017 was initiated by the largest local football club Frosinone Calcio, which took over the rights of the stadium from the city for 45 years until 2061 to replace the old Stadio Comunale Matusa from 1932.

The football stadium was inaugurated on September 28, 2017. The premiere took place on October 2, 2017 between Frosinone Calcio and US Cremonese . The game ended in a goalless draw in front of 13,001 spectators.

Grandstands

With a capacity of 16,125, it is the largest stadium in the Frosinone province and the third largest in Lazio.
