The Ryan ST s were a series of two-seat, low-wing, single-wing aircraft produced by the Ryan Aeronautical Company . They were used as sport aircraft, as well as trainers by flight schools and the military in various countries.

Design and development

T. Claude Ryan was the founder of the Ryan Aeronautical Company, the second company to be named and the fourth company he was involved in to bear his name (the first, Ryan Airlines, was the maker of the Ryan NYP, better known as Spirit of St. Louis ). In 1933 he began developing the ST (for the "sports trainer", also called ST), the company's first design.
