The Serie A 1991/92 was the 60th season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. It began on September 1, 1991 and ended on May 24, 1992 with the handover of the Scudetto, the Italian championship trophy, to AC Milan . Juventus Turin , Torino Calcio , SSC Napoli and AS Roma qualified for the UEFA Cup . In addition to the newcomers Hellas Verona , US Cremonese and Ascoli Calcio also had to AS Bari in the Serie B dismount.
Season course
On the seventh match day, SSC Napoli had to give up the championship lead with a 0-1 win against Juventus Turin to AC Milan. Juventus was henceforth the first pursuer. Until the winter break, coach Giovanni Trapattoni's team was able to keep the gap to three points. Then this grew to six points by the 29th matchday. Milan only secured the title on the penultimate matchday.
For the newcomers Hellas Verona , US Cremonese and Ascoli Calcio and AS Bari , the relegation battle began early. All four teams were already on the relegation ranks after three match days. In the course of the season, no team was able to place better than 13th place and had to start the series B at the end of the season .
