The Serie A 1939/40 was the eleventh season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. The season began on September 17, 1939, and the last matchday was June 2, 1940. As promoters, AC Florence and AC Venice from Serie B were added.

Ambrosiana-Inter finished the season as champions and became the successor to AGC Bologna . In Serie B, AC Liguria and FC Modena had to relegate.
