Hermann Felsner (born April 1, 1889 in Vienna , † February 6, 1977 in Graz , Styria ) was an Austrian football coach who celebrated his greatest successes in Italy . With his home club FC Bologna he was able to win the Scudetto in 1925, 1929, 1939 and 1941 , a total of four times the Italian championship . With the CFC Genoa he won the Coppa Italia in 1937 .

Career

Hermann Felsner was active as a player himself at the Wiener Sport-Club , in 1920 he took over his first coaching engagement at FC Bologna in Italy. In 1925 he was able to reach the final of the Italian championship with his club with a victory in the final of Lega Nord over CFC Genoa , which FC Bologna clearly won 2-0 and 4-0 against Alba Rome . In the following season, Felsner's club only narrowly failed in the final of the Lega Nord at Juventus Turin , in the Italian league championship held in 1927 and 1928, Bologna was runner-up behind AC Torino , which also had a coach from Vienna in Anton Cargnelli . In 1929, when the Italian championship was again decided in a final, Hermann Felsner was able to win his second Italian championship as a coach. Bologna won over Torino 3-1, 0-1 and 1-0.

After these successes in Bologna, however, the Austrian had to make way for Gyula Lelovics as a new coach in 1930 , and in 1931 he went to AC Fiorentina . With the promoted Fiorentines, he reached fourth place on their debut in Serie A. In 1933, however, Hermann Felsner left Florence and went to Sampierdarenese Genova , in Serie B , which was won straight away. After two years in Serie A with Genoa, Hermann Felsner took on an engagement at CFC Genoa in 1936 , with which he won the Coppa Italia , played for the second time, in 1937 . The final ended 1-0 against AS Roma .

After a season at AC Milan and a third place in the Seria, Hermann Felsner was able to return to his old place of work FC Bologna in 1938. Here he was again champion in 1939, runner-up in 1940 and again in 1941. In 1940 he was beaten in the championship for the third time only by Anton Cargnelli's club, at that time Inter Milan . Hermann Felsner later worked as a sports director at Bologna and in 1949 coached AS Livorno again in Serie A.
