Rodolfo "Sigghefrido" people , Italianized also Rodolfo Folchi (* January 14, 1906 in Rijeka , Austria-Hungary , † 2. October 1983 in Nemi , Italy ) was an Italian football player . The center forward was the first player of AS Roma , the scorer of the highest Italian league was.

Career

Rodolfo Volk began his career in his hometown, which at the time was part of Italy. His club Gloria Fiume played accordingly in the Italian league system, in 1926 third place was achieved in the four-track second division north.

In the same year people began his military service, which led him to Florence . However, he was not allowed to play alongside the service for the then second division club Fiorentina . People ignored this ban on their own initiative , ran for the Florentines under the name Bolteni and scored eleven goals in the 1926/27 season. He then returned to Rijeka, where Gloria had now merged with local rivals Olympia Fiume , the new club now played under the name US Fiumana in the second division and reached a midfield position with Volk in its first season.

After that, Volk moved to the capital to AS Roma , which was created through the merger the year before , where he was able to convince straight away and became a crowd favorite. In his first season he scored 25 goals and was thus instrumental in the third place in the group for the Romans in the last two-track Italian championship. In the following season , Roma finished sixth and Volk was second in the list of goalscorers with 21 goals behind Giuseppe Meazza , and in December 1929 he scored the first goal in the history of the Derby della Capitale against Lazio Rome . This was followed by his most successful year in Rome, where the team was runner-up behind Juventus Turin and Volk won the Capocannoniere title with 29 goals . In the Mitropapokal 1931 they were eliminated in the semifinals against the eventual winner First Vienna FC . After two more years he left the club where there were internal differences. He played a total of 157 games for the Romans, scored 103 goals and, with 42 goals, is the most successful goalscorer in the Campo Testaccio , the Roma stadium from 1929 to 1940.

First he played a season at Pisa SC , where under the coach György Orth and with the help of 16 goals by Volk the promotion to Serie B was achieved. After a season with US Triestina , the striker returned to his hometown, where he played in the third and second division with the US Fiumana until 1942.

Volk was able to score five hits in five appearances in the Italian B national team , but he was never called up for the A national team .

After the end of his career as a footballer, he worked as a porter for the toto company Totocalcio .
