Pietro Serantoni (born December 11, 1906 in Venice , Italy , † October 6, 1964 in Rome , Italy) was an Italian football player and coach .
During his playing career he played in midfield, his greatest footballing skills were his shooting power and temperament, with which he made up for a lack of technical skills.
Player career
In the club
Pietro Serantoni began his career at AC Venice , in 1928 he moved to Inter Milan , which was then called Ambrosiana-Inter . With Inter he was able to celebrate winning his first Italian championship in the 1929/30 season and contribute 16 goals to winning the title. Serantoni played in Milan until 1934 before he moved to Juventus Turin for the 1934/35 season. At Juve , the midfielder was able to win his second championship straight away. In the summer of 1936 he finally moved to AS Roma , where he stayed until 1940. His active career, he finally ended at Suzzara in the C series .
In the national team
However, Pietro Serantoni was able to celebrate the greatest success of his career with the Italian national team , for which he made his debut on February 12, 1933, in a 3-2 win in the international match in Belgium . Serantoni was not nominated for the 1934 World Cup in his own country. After four missions between 1933 and 1934, including the legendary Battle of Highbury against England , the Venetian did not play any more international matches until November 1936. After that, however, especially in 1937 and 1938, he was a regular in the Squadra Azzurra and completed all four games at the 1938 World Cup in France , which he won with Italy under coach Vittorio Pozzo . Pietro Serantoni completed his last international game for the Azzurri on May 13, 1935 in a 2-2 home game against England.

Coaching career
After completing his active career, Pietro Serantoni worked as a trainer for AC Padua between 1947 and 1950 . In the 1950/51 season he coached AS Roma .
