Player career
society
Teobaldo Depetrini began his football career in his hometown with SG Pro Vercelli , where he made his Serie A debut on May 31, 1931 at the age of 18 under József Nagy .
After three seasons at Pro Vercelli, where he played with Silvio Piola , among others , Depetrini was committed in the summer of 1933 by Juventus Turin , the serial champion of the time. In the Turin game , the midfielder finally became one of the pillars after the resignation of Luigi Bertolini . Depetrini and completed a total of 387 games by 1949 - with an interruption due to the Second World War - and won the Italian championship and the Coppa Italia twice .
At the age of 36, Depetrini left Juve in the direction of local rivals Torino Calcio , who urgently needed experienced players after the Superga plane crash in May 1949, in which almost the entire professional team had been wiped out. 1951 ended Depetrini after a total of 400 games in Italy's top division, his active career at Torino .
National team
Depetrini made his debut in the Italian national team on May 17, 1936 under Vittorio Pozzo in a 2-2 draw in the friendly against Austria in Rome . Also because of the considerable competition in his position in midfield, Depetrini only made twelve internationals by 1946.
Coaching career
After several engagements at smaller clubs, including Pro Vercelli, which is now played viertklassig, returned Teobaldo Depetrini 1958 to Juventus back and started in the season 1958/59 as assistant coach of the Yugoslavian ljubiša broćić . After his replacement in November 1958 - Juventus had eliminated, among other things, after a 0: 7 against the Wiener Sport-Club in the preliminary round of the European Cup - he inherited Broćić. Depetrini led the team around the magical trio Giampiero Boniperti , John Charles and Omar Sívori to fourth place in Serie A and to the third Coppa Italia victory in the club's history. Renato Cesarini succeeded him as Juve coach for the new season . After that, he continued to look after lower-class clubs until 1969.
