Paluani is an Italian confectionery manufacturer that mainly makes cakes. He is the fourth largest panettone producer in Italy. The company is also known as a long-term sponsor of Chievo Verona .
history
Paluani was founded in 1921 by a pastry chef in Verona and initially specialized in the production of pandoro and pudding . In the 1930s, Paluani began making panettone , an Italian cake specialty. In addition, the company Pastry Cometti , to date the only panettone producer in Verona, was bought up.
After the Second World War , the company struggled with serious financial problems until it was taken over by Luigi Campedelli. Under Campedelli, Paluani was soon back in the black and developed more and more into a large company. In 1968 Paluani was already one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in Italy.
In 1976 production was relocated to a new factory in Dossobuono , the headquarters are also located there. Luigi Campedelli died in 1992, his son Luca , then 23 years old, took over the company and is still president and majority shareholder .
Sponsor of Chievo Verona
Paluani has been the main sponsor of Chievo Verona since 1981, with an interruption from 2006 to 2008 and the 2012/13 season . In the period from 1981 to 1986 the club was even called Paluani Chievo . The company is closely associated with the association. Luca Campedelli , President of Paluani, is also President of Chievo Verona.
