Germán Gustavo Denis (born September 10, 1981 in Remedios de Escalada , Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine football player on the position of the striker .

Career

He began his career in 1997 with the Argentine third division team Talleres de Remedios de Escalada. In 2000 he moved to Club Atlético Los Andes in Lomas de Zamora, which was relegated in his first season. Denis stayed with the club until he accepted an offer from the Italian Serie B club AC Cesena . In 2003 he returned to Argentina, to the first division side Arsenal de Sarandí , who was coached by Jorge Burruchaga . He played there for two years until he finally moved to CA Colón . In the summer of 2006 he followed his former trainer at Arsenal, Jorge Burruchaga, to Independiente , where he was to achieve his final breakthrough under his direction.

In 2008 he was signed by the SSC Napoli for around nine million euros . In August 2010 he was given up in a share deal with league rival Udinese Calcio , SSC Napoli still owns 50 percent of its transfer rights.

In August 2011 he was loaned to Atalanta Bergamo , where he played a strong season and scored 16 goals in 33 games.
