After two years in Carpi, he was awarded to FC Bologna , with whom he was relegated from Serie B after not a single use at the end of the season . He then returned to Carpi and played again as a regular in Serie D.

After only one year he left Carpi again and moved to FC Modena in Serie C1 . After a solid season, he moved again after just one year and joined the then second division club Cagliari Calcio . At the end of the second season in Cagliari, he and the club had to go into the third division and could only be promoted back to the second division after two more seasons in the C1 series. In the following season , however, came with the third place in the immediate walkover in the Serie A . In his first Serie A game time he could with the team also reached the league before he completed the next career move: In the summer of 1991 moved to Pulga European Cup participant AC Parma . In his first season for Parma he was able to celebrate the victory of the Coppa Italia and the resulting renewed qualification for a European competition. In the 1992/93 season he achieved third place in the table with Parma as well as winning the European Cup Winners' Cup . After he won two titles in two years, but never belonged to the regular players, Pulga moved to the second division to Vicenza Calcio , where he only played one season, which ended with a midfield place.

In the summer of 1994 Pulga moved back to his youth club, the AC Carpi, which had meanwhile been promoted to the C1 series. He played with Carpi for another five years in the C1 series, but in the fourth year they only just missed promotion when they lost 3-2 to AC Monza Brianza in the final of the play-offs . In his last year as a footballer, Pulga also had to relegate to Serie C2 with AC Carpi .

Coaching career

After his active time, Pulga completed trainer courses and acquired the necessary licenses. From 2003 he worked in the youth department of FC Modena , where he worked until 2011. In 2011 Pulga was promoted to Cristiano Bergodi's assistant and thus assistant coach of the professional team. Even after Bergodi's dismissal he remained under Agatino Cuttone's assistant coach, as well as after Cuttones dismissal and Bergodi's return. In the summer of 2012 Pulga left the club and was looking for a club for a short time.

After the first division club Cagliari Calcio dismissed their coach Massimo Ficcadenti in the 2012/13 season due to lack of success - the team was two points in the bottom of the table after six matchdays - Pulga was introduced as the new head coach. Under Pulga, the team came to constancy and could celebrate relegation safely and safely. Despite the good results, Pulga did not remain head coach of the Rossoblù : Since Cagliari's preferred candidate for the coaching position, Uruguayan Diego López , slipped into the second line and became assistant coach. After a mixed season , López was dismissed six game days before the end after a 1: 3 defeat against AS Roma , whereupon Pulga should save the Sardinians - in the meantime again in danger of relegation - from that fate. After seven points from the first three games under Pulga, relegation was already perfect and no worries. Although Pulga was able to convince in his second term in office in Cagliari, no contract talks took place after the end of the season. Instead, the association signed Zdeněk Zeman as his successor.

In April 2018, Pulga became the coach of Brescia Calcio after a break of almost four years . At the beginning of June 2018 he became a scout at Brescia Calcio.
