Sergej Milinković-Savić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Сергеј Милинковић-Савић ; born February 27, 1995 in Lleida , Spain ) is a Serbian football player . The central midfielder is under contract with Lazio Roma in Serie A and is a Serbian international .
family
His father Nikola Milinković (* 1968) is a former soccer player and today's coach. His younger brother Vanja (* 1997) is also a soccer player and plays as a goalkeeper. Sergei was in Spanish Lleida born while his father at UE Lleida was active. The family later lived in Portugal and Austria, since father Nikola was a football player there. In 2006 the family returned to Serbia.
Career

Milinković-Savić played in the youth teams of Sporting Lisbon while his father was active in Portugal, and the Graz AK when his father was active at the said club and at ASK Schwadorf , before joining the youth academy in 2006 after the family returned to Serbia of FK Vojvodina joined. On November 23, 2013 he made his debut for the first team in the 3-0 defeat by FK Jagodina in the SuperLiga . By the end of the season he was used in 13 league games and scored three goals. With Vojvodina he won the Serbian Cup in the season and then moved to KRC Genk for the 2014/15 season . After one season he was signed by Lazio . There he played his first game in the Europa League on September 17, 2015 and scored the only goal of his team in the 1-1 draw against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk . In the 2016/17 season , Milinković-Savić asserted himself as a regular player and played 34 league games in which he scored four goals. With Lazio he also reached the final of the Coppa Italia , in which his team lost 2-0 to Juventus Turin . However, the team also qualified for the Supercoppa Italiana , which Milinković-Savić and Lazio won 3-2 against Juventus on August 13, 2017. In the 2017/18 season he scored twelve goals in 35 league games, making him the second best goalscorer of his team after Ciro Immobile .
National team
Milinković-Savić played in July and August 2013 with the Serbian U19 selection at the U19 European Championship in Lithuania . There he was used in five games of his team and won the title after a 1-0 final victory over France . In June 2015 , Milinković-Savić also won the U20 World Cup in New Zealand as a player in the U20 national team . He was used in all six games, scored once and was named the third best player of the tournament.
Milinković-Savić would have been eligible to play for both the Montenegrin and Spanish national teams , but on November 10, 2017 he made his debut in a 2-0 win in a friendly against China in the Serbian senior team . In June 2018 he was appointed to the Serbian squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia by national coach Mladen Krstajić . There he was used in all three preliminary round matches. However, Serbia was eliminated after the preliminary round.
