Felipe Salvador Caicedo Corozo (born September 5, 1988 in Guayaquil ) is an Ecuadorian football player who also has Spanish citizenship. He usually plays as a striker , but can also be used as an attacking midfielder as he is considered quick and tricky. He is currently under contract with the Italian first division club Lazio Rome .
Career
Caicedo began his professional career at the lower-class Rocafuerte FC from Guayaquil in the regional third Ecuadorian league of the Guayas province . In September 2006 he moved to FC Basel . In his first season he showed all his talent. He played a total of 32 games and scored nine goals. On January 31, 2008, he moved to Manchester City in the English Premier League with immediate effect for around £ 5 million . He was mostly used as a substitute there. Until the end of 2009, the attacker was under contract with Sporting Lisbon on loan. In January 2010, the Spanish first division club FC Málaga announced that they had signed Caicedo on loan until the end of the season. He should help to keep the club in the top division.
After another loan deal with the Spanish first division club Levante UD , Caicedo moved to Russia in the Premjer League to Lokomotiv Moscow .
During the winter break of the 2013/14 season, he moved to the United Arab Emirates and signed a contract with Al-Jazira Club until December 2016. Lokomotive received a transfer fee of seven million euros for this transfer. After half a year he left Al-Jazira for free and moved to Espanyol Barcelona in the summer of 2014 .
Caicedo is regularly used in the Ecuadorian national team and previously played various games in the U-16, U-17 and U-20 team of his country. He took part in the 2007 U-20 World Cup in Paraguay and in the 2007 Copa America tournament.
In 2017 Caicedo moved to Lazio for a transfer fee of three million euros .

Caicedo is married to a Spaniard and received Spanish citizenship after their marriage in September 2015.
