Carlos Joaquín Correa (born August 13, 1994 in Juan Bautista Alberdi , Tucumán ) is an Argentine - Italian football player . The attacking midfielder is under contract with Lazio Rome and is an Argentine international .

Career

Correa began his career in the youth of Estudiantes de La Plata . There he moved up to the first team in 2012 and played for the first time in the Argentine Primera División on May 19, 2012 in the 3-0 win at CA Banfield . He scored his first goal on May 10, 2014 for a 1-0 lead after six minutes in a 3-0 home win against CA San Lorenzo de Almagro .

For the second half of the 2014/15 season Correa moved to Sampdoria in the Italian Serie A . On February 15, 2015, he made his debut in the 2-1 defeat at Chievo Verona and made six appearances by the end of the season. In the 2015/16 season , Correa played 25 times and scored three goals. For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Spanish first division club Sevilla FC . On February 22, 2017, Correa scored his first Champions League goal in a 2-1 home win in the round of 16 first leg against Leicester City by scoring 2-0 .

For the season 2018/19 Correa moved to Lazio .

National team

Correa made his debut on June 9, 2017 in a 1-0 victory in the friendly against Brazil in the Argentine national team . His first goal for the team came four days later in a 6-0 win over Singapore .
