Danilo Cataldi (born August 6, 1994 in Rome ) is an Italian football player .

Career

In the club

Cataldi, who comes from the Lazio youth, was included in the professional squad in 2013, but loaned out to FC Crotone in his first professional season to get match practice. For Crotone, he played 35 league games in which he scored four goals. In the play-offs for promotion to Serie A , however, his team failed in the first round at AS Bari . He returned to Lazio for the 2014/15 season .

In January 2017, Cataldi switched to CFC Genoa on loan . Another loan to Benevento Calcio followed in the summer of 2017 .

In the national team

Cataldi played for various junior national teams in Italy from 2012 to 2017. Among other things, he made his debut for the U-21 team in 2014 , for which he made a total of 20 appearances.

In November 2016, Cataldi was nominated for the Italian national team for the first time , but remained without use. In May 2017 he was nominated by national coach Gian Piero Ventura for the friendly against San Marino and made his debut for the Squadra Azzurra . It has not been taken into account since then.
