Maximilian Leopold Löblich

Maximilian Leopold Löblich (born November 16, 1901 in Vienna ; † March 1, 1984 ) was an Austrian entrepreneur, coppersmith, engineer and managing partner of Löblich & Co. Kessel und Apparatebau KG , the oldest boiler manufacturer in Austria.

Life

Max Löblich, son of the railway engineer and director of the Actiengesellschaft der Wiener Lokalbahnen Max Löblich , attended high school in Horn , graduated from a higher technical college in Vienna and passed the master craftsman's examination in the coppersmith trade.

From 1924 to 1927 he worked as a designer in a relevant company in Germany and will therefore be responsible for the Löblich production program in the future. On January 1, 1929, Löblich took over the management of the metal goods factory Leopold Löblich from his uncle Leopold Löblich together with his brother Ing.Franz Löblich († April 3) .

The coppersmiths' guild established in the age of the corporate state, in which Max Löblich had been a leader since the early 1930s, became a guild after the annexation of Austria during the National Socialist era . Although he was not a member of the NSDAP himself , he represented the guild as its leader during the Nazi era. After the death of his brother at the end of the Second World War , Max Löblich continued to run the company alone until his death in 1984.

He had as a designer of new boiler (welded fire tube boiler, compare system Rohleder with atmospheric burners (Polidoro, Italy) and electromechanical gas valve (see System Brahma )) instrumental in the expansion of the company and as a leading manufacturer and market leader in the Austrian market for gas heating of 1950s. As a result, gas, first as town gas, later as natural gas , became the most widely used energy source for space heating in Austria over the years.

Löblich became the leading boiler supplier in Austria and included the Federal Presidents Adolf Schärf , Franz Jonas , Kurt Waldheim and Thomas Klestil , the Hungarian Prime Minister János Kádár , Austria's Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreisky , Vice Chancellor Alois Mock and others. v. a. to his customers. Under his leadership, the company Löblich & Co. was awarded the state award and authorization to use the federal coat of arms on September 5, 1977 .

A few years before his death in 1984, Löblich handed over the management of the company to his son Maximilian Wolfgang Löblich (* 1931) and his nephew Adolf Löblich (* 1938), who continued the company and in particular expanded the international sales cooperation and the wholesale and technical customer service divisions.

Maximilian Leopold Löblich died in 1984 and is buried in Weidling near Vienna in the family grave designed by Robert Oerley .

Married to Elisabeth, née Goetz (1899–1987), Löblich was the father of three children: Maria, married. Williams, Constanze, married Seiller-Tarbuk and Maximilian.
