For the next season, the squad was strengthened with Mirko Vučinić , Jonathan Pitroipa and Manuel Lanzini after last season's three signings left the club. Furthermore, Walter Zenga was dismissed and replaced by the Belgian Eric Gerets . The season ended with 2nd place in the league. In addition, they were eliminated early on in both cup competitions.
