al-Dhafra ( Arabic الظفرة, DMG aẓ-Ẓafra ) is a sports club from Madinat Zayed , Abu Dhabi ( United Arab Emirates ), which was founded in 2000. After being promoted in 2006/07, the football department currently plays in the country's highest league, the UAE Arabian Gulf League . The club plays its home games at al-Dhafra Stadium. Since it was founded, the football department has not been able to establish itself in the top division in the long term. An ascent was usually immediately followed by a descent and a renewed ascent. It was only after the rise in 2006/07 that it was possible for the first time to keep the class with a 10th place.
