Bonaventure Kalou (born January 12, 1978 in Oumé ) is a former Ivorian football player . In addition to his Ivorian citizenship, he also has Dutch citizenship .

Career

society

The offensive player began his professional career in July 1995 at ASEC Mimosas and moved to the Dutch football club Feyenoord Rotterdam in July 1997 , with whom he won the 2002 UEFA Cup with a 3-2 final against Borussia Dortmund . Kalou was substituted on for Johan Elmander in the 76th minute . In July 2003 he signed the AJ Auxerre , which he helped with the decisive final goal to win the French Cup . Kalou stayed there until June 2005, then moved to Paris Saint-Germain . In the summer of 2007, Kalou went to RC Lens , but already moved to the United Arab Emirates to Al-Jazira Club in September 2007 . After a time without a club, Kalou hired in the summer of 2008 for the Dutch first division club SC Heerenveen . During the winter break of the 2009/10 season he left Heerenveen and ended his career just under a year later.

National team

On the last day of the World Cup qualification, he qualified with the Ivory Coast national team for the 2006 World Cup . In the third and final group game of the 2006 World Cup, he scored the winning goal against Serbia with a penalty to make it 3-2. The last group game was also Bonaventure Kalou's last international appearance. Kalou completed 51 appearances in the national team and scored twelve goals.

His younger brother Salomon also plays for the Ivory Coast national team.
