Turnaround in Benin Yann Jonathan Pitroipa (born April 12, 1986 in Ouagadougou ) is a Burkinabe soccer player who has been under contract with the French second division Paris FC since the 2019 season .
Career
societies
Pitroipa began playing football at the “Planète Champion International” football academy in Ouagadougou , where his former Freiburg teammate Wilfried Sanou was trained. At the beginning of his career, Pitroipa played on the academy's team in the Burkinabe second division.
After a trial training session in July 2004, he received a professional contract, initially dated until June 2006, with the German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg . In his first Bundesliga season he did not really get a chance after a serious illness and was only substituted on four times. Only after the relegation of SC Freiburg to the 2nd Bundesliga did he rise to the top team in the second half of the 2005/06 season .
In January 2008, Pitroipa signed a contract with Hamburger SV that was valid until June 30, 2012 and moved to this free transfer for the 2008/09 season . On April 4, 2009, he scored his first Bundesliga goal with a 1-0 winner against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . In the 2009/10 season he scored three goals in 20 games, including against his former club SC Freiburg on August 8, 2009.
In the summer break of 2011, Pitroipa moved to the French first division club Stade Rennais , where he was under contract until June 2014. He has played in the United Arab Emirates ' first division since 2014 , in the 2014/15 season for the al-Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi and from 2015 to 2017 for the al-Nasr Sports Club in Dubai .
Since January 2018 he has been playing for the Belgian first division club Royal Antwerp in the Pro League .
For the 2019 season, Jonathan Pitroipa moved to the French club Paris FC on a free transfer .
National team
On October 7, 2006 he completed his first international match for the senior national team as part of the qualification for the 2008 African Cup against Senegal . With this he finished second at the 2013 African Cup of Nations after Burkina Faso lost 1-0 in Nigeria's selection in the final . Pitroipa was named "Player of the Tournament".
