Elson Evelio Becerra Vaca (born April 26, 1978 in Cartagena , † January 8, 2006 ibid) was a Colombian football player .

The striker has been with Al-Jazira Club in the United Arab Emirates since 2003 . He previously played for Deportes Tolima and Atlético Junior Barranquilla .

Becerra played 15 times for the Colombian national team between 2000 and 2003 , scoring one goal. With the Colombian national team, he won the Copa América in 2001 and took part in the 2003 Confederations Cup in France . Here he gained some notoriety, as he tried in the semifinals of the tournament in the game against Cameroon as the first to revive Marc-Vivien Foe , who had collapsed due to heart failure .

On January 8, 2006, he and a friend were shot dead by strangers in a nightclub.
