Darko Lazović ( Serbian Дарко Лазовић ; born September 15, 1990 in Čačak ) is a Serbian football player . The winger plays in the Italian Serie A for Hellas Verona and is active for the Serbian national team .
Career
Lazović began his career in the youth team from Borac Čačak . In the 2007/08 season he rose to the first team and quickly established himself so that he became a regular early on. In the winter break of 2008/09 he went to Hertha BSC's trial training . On March 2, 2008 he made his debut for Borac Čačak under head coach Milovan Rajevac in a championship game against Hajduk Kula . His first goal for Borac Čačak in a competitive match he scored on March 22, 2008 in the league game against Vojvodina Novi Sad .
During his time at Borac Čačak, Tottenham Hotspur and Hertha BSC , among others, showed interest in Lazović's commitment. For the 2009/10 season he finally moved to FK Red Star Belgrade . After some teething problems, he got more and more hours of play after a coach change under Robert Prosinečki . He was also regularly in the starting line-up in the following competitive games. During the season Lazović became a regular player and an important part of the team. In 2011, at the age of 21, he was voted the best young player in Serbia. On July 4, 2012, Lazović extended his contract with Red Star Belgrade for three more years until 2015, ending speculation about his possible move to Dynamo Moscow or Paris Saint-Germain .
In the summer of 2015 he moved to the Italian first division club CFC Genoa on a free transfer . In 2019 he moved to the newly promoted Hellas Verona .
He made his debut in the Serbian national team under Radomir Antić on December 14, 2008 in a friendly against Poland .
Style of play
Darko Lazović is a classic winger who is mainly used on the right wing, but was also used in other offensive positions in midfield.
