The NIFL Premiership 2019/20 (also Danske Bank Premiership after the league sponsor Danske Bank ) was the twelfth season of the highest Northern Irish football league since the reorganization of the league and the 119th season overall. The season started on August 4, 2019 and ended prematurely on March 7, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK .
Champion became defending champion Linfield FC .
mode
The twelve teams should initially play against each other three times - at least once at home and once away - on a total of 33 match days. Because of the pandemic, the season was canceled after 31 match days. The subsequent championship and relegation round was omitted as was the relegation against relegation.
The champion took part in the qualification for the Champions League , the second and the cup winners in the Europa League . The bottom of the table was relegated.
