Geographical location and traffic

Neukönigsfeld forms the southeastern part of the municipality of Königsfeld on Oberen Dorfstrasse and Geithainer Strasse ( Bundesstrasse 7 ). The 231 m high vineyard is located south of the settlement.

history

Neukönigsfeld, Gasthof Vergißmeinnicht

Compared to the village of Königsfeld, mentioned in 1273, the Neukönigsfeld settlement is much younger. It was founded in the first half of the 19th century on the lands of the Königsfeld manor , which at that time belonged to the von Nitzschwitz family. The settlement has always been parish to Königsfeld. Around 1835 Neukönigsfeld consisted of 21 houses with around 150 residents.

Neukönigsfeld belonged to the Electoral Saxon and Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz until 1856 . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Neukönigsfeld came under the administration of the Rochlitz Court Office in 1856 and under the newly established Rochlitz District Administration in 1875 .

On October 1, 1935, Neukönigsfeld was incorporated into Königsfeld. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Neukönigsfeld was incorporated as part of the Königsfeld community into the Rochlitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Rochlitz district of Saxony from 1990 and in the Mittweida district in 1994 or 2008 in the district of central Saxony.
