history

District administration and district of Rochlitz 1874–1952

The Rochlitz district was established in 1939 from the Rochlitz administration . In 1946 the previously independent city of Mittweida was reintegrated into the district. With the 3rd and 4th ordinance for the implementation of the law on the change of the district and community boundaries of April 27, 1950 , territorial changes were carried out in the district for the first time on a larger scale. The number of municipalities was noticeably reduced. As a result of the dissolution of the country structures, on 25 July 1952 in the GDR, the district was dissolved and the circles Geithain , Hainichen and Rochlitz divided. The new Rochlitz district of the same name was considerably smaller than its predecessor.
