Aitzendorf is a village in the district of Central Saxony , which was incorporated into Geringswalde on January 1, 1999 .

The square village of Aitzendorf is located in the central Saxon loess hill country on a hill about 2 km west of the city of Geringswalde on the federal highway 175 . The district covers (without incorporations) 196 hectares in length corridor .

history

The place is mentioned in 1374 as Atzendorf (village of Atzo or Azzo, named after the locator ). Colored in dialect, it is known as Otzendorf in 1489 and 1587 and has been on record since 1748 in today's spelling.

Like the neighboring towns, Aitzendorf belonged to the Schönburg rule and came to the electoral office of Rochlitz at the end of the 16th century . From 1856 it was subordinate to the Geringswalde court office and from 1875 to the Rochlitz administration . In 1950 the neighboring towns of Dittmannsdorf and Hermsdorf (formerly Hochhermsdorf) were incorporated. With them it came to the district of Rochlitz in 1952 . In 1965 Hermsdorf was reclassified to Zettlitz .

In 1587, the manor monastery of Geringswalde was the manorial estate , and in 1764 Aitzendorf became the district village . The place was parish to Geringswalde.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent communities Dittmannsdorf and Hermsdorf were incorporated.

Aitzendorf is represented by a local council.

Population development

In 1587 there were 12 possessed men and 3 cottagers , in 1764 11 possessed men and 8 cottagers. In 1834 the place had 138 inhabitants, the number of which rose to 199 by 1925 (198 Evangelical Lutheran and one Roman Catholic denomination). In 1938 only 168 people lived in the village, in 1946 through immigration 222, and after the incorporation in 1950 there were 586. When Hermsdorf was hived off in 1964, there were 741 inhabitants and in 1990 only 360.

The federal highway 175 turns almost at a right angle at the Aitzendorfer Gasthof. There the county road branches off to Sachsendorf . The K8292 connects Aitzendorf with Hermsdorf and Methau. The nearest train station is in Schweikershain .
